How is a quote different from an estimate?

A quote is a firm price offer that holds until the valid-until date you print on it. An estimate is a projection that may change as the job develops. The same RaveRep tool makes both.

What does the valid-until date do?

It prints on the quote so the customer can see how long the offer stands. It is a printed date only, nothing expires automatically and RaveRep sends no reminders.

Does it send the quote to my client?

No. The tool builds a PDF in your browser and downloads it to your device. You send it yourself, however you normally reach that customer.

Do I need an account?

No. Building and downloading a quote is free without signing up. Signing in removes the small RaveRep line from the file and adds Save to Library, saved records and automatic numbering.

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. You can create and download invoices, estimates, quotes, and receipts as polished PDFs without paying and without creating an account. There's no trial and no paywall between you and the file. Anonymous downloads carry a small RaveRep line in the footer; create a free account and your documents download clean, and you can save them to your Library for later.

Does my billing data get uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF is generated entirely in your browser, on your own device — client names, amounts, and your logo are never sent to us. The only thing stored anywhere is your own business details (name, contact info, logo), and those live in your browser's local storage purely so your next document starts pre-filled. Financial paperwork is exactly the kind of data that shouldn't pass through someone else's server, and here it doesn't.

Can I make estimates, quotes, and receipts too?

Yes — it's one tool with a document-type toggle. Invoice, estimate, and quote share the same layout with the right labels and date fields, and the receipt mode swaps in what a proof of payment needs: a payment method, an 'Amount paid' total, and a green PAID stamp. Your line items and details carry over when you switch, so turning an invoice into a receipt after payment takes one click.

Will it remember my business details?

Yes. Your name or business name, contact details, address, and uploaded logo are remembered on this device, so the next invoice or receipt starts pre-filled — you only type the client and the line items.
