Is this URL shortener really free?
Yes — shortening links, custom endings, and the links dashboard are free. The one requirement is a free account (no card, nothing to cancel): unlike our on-device tools, a shortener creates links that live on and redirect people, so they need an owner. Sign up once and every link you shorten is yours to manage.
Why do I need an account to shorten links?
Because link management needs an account so your links stay yours. Your account is what lets you edit where a link points after you've shared it, see its click count, switch it off, or delete it — none of that works with an anonymous link nobody owns. It's also the anti-abuse gate: with no anonymous shortening, raverep.link can't be farmed by spammers, which keeps every legitimate link on the domain trusted by inboxes and messaging apps.
What happens to the links I create?
A shortener has to store your destination URL — that's literally how the redirect works — so each link's destination, label, and click count are saved to your account, visible only to you. You stay in control: edit the destination, deactivate a link so it stops redirecting, or delete it outright at any time. We don't sell your link data.
Can I change where a link points after sharing it?
Yes — that's the quiet superpower of a short link. Edit the destination in your dashboard and every copy of the link already out in the world follows the new address instantly: the flyer stays printed, the bio link stays posted, and you never re-share anything.
